I stole and burnt your soul – New release from GSpot, Previews!

Heya peeps!

Time for a new outfit again. Also, I am so very happy. I went through and finally got my first own sim. For now, only a homestead to tinker with more prims and make it my OWN home (I’ve been dreaming of that since forever) but maybe one day I will expand. I don’t know. I am very excited though, I have so damn many ideas.

Today, I decided to not ONLY review completely new items.

The hair!

Liquence by Villena Swansen is one of my absolute fav stores lately. Not all of their hair seem to fit my avi’s head, but a couple do and I am very much in love with those. This one is a slightly older style but it is one I completely forgot I have! I found it at random in my Truth folder and I certainly had forgotten about it. The only thing that bothers me some about Liquence is that their hair cannot be tinted. Subtle tinting helps so, so much with finding just the right tone and frankly, their reds are a bit off, either too rosΓ© or too orange, at least on my screen. How perfect this hair would be if it was tintable!

The armor!

I am starting to feel biased for promoting Gspot by Jalilah Jewell so much on my blog, haha. πŸ˜› But, Jalilah once again made female armor and well, I am a sucker for armor. This time, she made something less fragile and a little more fierce looking. I really do love the colourchoices she made, the subtle patterns on the plates as well as the gems. I think they add a nicely sophisticated touch to these armorpieces. The below picture shows the armor a little better, for some reason, the first got a little too dark. I have to agree with Jalilah that texturing adds a LOT to an item….and can take away just as much from its appeal. In this case, it is the first case. The design is relatively simple compared to her other styles, but the patterns really do it for me. PLUS: Straps! And a harness. I love any sort of armor that doesn’t just float at random on your arms.

The headpiece!

Yet another soon-to-be-release by Deccan Arida of The Forge. Hey, Deccan, could you release somewhat slower? I cannot keep up with blogging and I start feelign like a parrot with repeating how much I like these items. πŸ™‚ Fact is, this headpiece has an awesome look, which is enhanced by the scratched, used looking texture. I LOVE used looking textures, especially in rp. I think the choices of design and colours really go well together, too. Of all color-options available, this for sure is my fav. It comes in a male version and different colours, too!

And a hint for designers!

Now here is my subtle hint of the day: I think we girls are in dire need of FLAT, overknee (or even tigh-high) boots. There are a gazillion of boots with heels, but so few flat ones that really go way up. The only ones (that are up to date) I can think of are the ones displayed, Yasum Design’s, Lightstar Design’s and maybe one other pair. Most others look not half as good. 😦 Please? πŸ˜€

Also, a store you might want to have a look at is Harm’s Way by Harmini Idlemind. I stumbled upon it through Voshie’s Genre event. πŸ™‚

  1. I love the hair. I love the armor and the headpiece. Too many goodies in one post. And look at you, advertising for an event selflessly!

  2. That blog is named “role play styles” but should be named “elf style”…All your outfits look similar, at the end, it’s boring..Too, will you understand some day that Elves are normally depicted as slender, tall, with almost too-sharp features? Your chubby girl with her grumpy, pouty and sulky facial expression looks nothing like an elf, just like some sulky chubby girl with big ears, with a no more creative appearance than thousands of SL wenches, just sayin’ (and adjust better your lashes, please, *yawns*)

    1. Ok, so, instead of hiding behind a nameless post insulting Arica’s choice in appearance, perhaps you could… I dunno… maybe show us your masterpiece that is clearly worlds better than everyone else’s in Second Life? Please, teach us all how to dress and shape our appearances so we can please you. πŸ™‚

    2. Don’t you feel honored some one took the time out of their day to write a paragraph about your pixel eyelashes? lolz.

  3. 1. I totally agree with you on the boots Arica. There is a desperate need for flat footed, knee or thigh-high boots with great quality texturing in lots of colours. LOL. *yes this is a hint to any designers reading this post*
    2. Liquence hair is indeed lovely, but I’ve only found one style that actually fits my head shape (even after adjustments). Not sure what shape base the designer is using, as I’ve heard similar from a couple of other people.
    3. I don’t think it matters what your avatar looks like, you always blog lovely outfits and do informative posts. I’m pretty sure many others share my opinion too and site traffic speaks volume’s. πŸ˜›
