What would life be like without a few mistakes? – Enfant Terrible, Ryvolter, Genre and more! :)

Hiya peeps!

I always really loathe those days before x-mas. Stressiest time of the year EVER! Argh. But I managed to put together a vintage inspired new outfit regardless. πŸ™‚

New hair from Truth!

Truth Hawks released a BUNCH of new hairs this week! I am displaying two of the new ones ont hese pictures. πŸ™‚ Really liking these, though my fav is probably a cute one with two little buns on the back of the head, but that one didn’t go so well with this outfit. πŸ™‚

The headpiece!

Jalilah Jewell of Enfant Terrible is slowly venturing into new areas with her stuff. She already left GSpot, a purely rp based brand, behind and developed her new brand, and now, her stuff is more and more appealing to both mainstreamers and role-players alike. πŸ™‚ I am a fan of this, though I hope she won’t forget us fellow rpers in the long run. This one is suuuuper vintage inspired and you can get it at the current round of Genre. πŸ™‚ The textures are awesome and I love the combination of the sligfhtly oversized bow with the butterfly. Mwah! Perfect combination of colours, too, really subtle yet far from boring. There are more colours available, too. I am very much a fan of this and for 100L you can hardly do wrong.

The cape!

I pondered a long, long time wether or not I should buy this. When I saw the ad for it on Flickr I literally DASHED t Ryvolter by Sanya Bilavio to get it, but when I saw the price I was pretty appalled. More than 600 Lindens for a single, relatively simple item is a quite a steep price. Don’t get me wrong, I value good quality and I know that Ryvolter does deliver when it comes to that, the texture on this cloak is marvellous and the mesh is really pretty. But, then again, that price just seems pretty ridiculous. I can understand when complicated mesh outfits with several layers, shadows, belts, lacings and what not cost a lot of Lindens. But a simple item that doesn’t even come in the five standard sizes? Thats eemed like a joke to be very honest. I did think about this for a long time, but in the end, I decided to buy it. This might imply that after all, the item IS worth its price, but I have to say: less would be more adequate in this case. I LOVE the cape enough to buy it, yes. That is true. I think the textures and the idea of the item itself is great. It makes a nice addition to many outfits. However, when you cannot even be bothered to offer the normal sizesΒ  you have to compare your own pricing to what’s actually out there. Granted, I might have bought 3 or more of these cloaks if the price had been around 300-400 Lindens, which means they would have made more money with me already. Spontaneous buying always depends on the price. I am very sure that if the prices were more reasonable, they’d sell more and come out with a nice plus. I can understand that some brands want to elevate themselves above others and try to show that with their pricin too, but this isn’t real life. I cannot TELL the difference between this cape and similar capes offered by other high quality brands for better prices and I am sure most others cannot tell either, so where’s the justification for the price after all? There isn’t even a visble batch on it that screams Ryvolter! πŸ˜›

In the end my reasoning went like this. “I want to support original content designers, this may make me feel iffy because I think the price is not justified if you compare the complexity of this item to other items in this pricerange, but whatever. I like it.” In the end, I will probably buy what I like because I can afford it easily. I got other capes, too, and I for sure got more of them and felt less awkward about buying them.

All in all, this item IS very good quality from what I can tell. I love the texture and I love the flexibility of this item. So if you are prepared to pay a higher price than usual, buy it!

The chaps!

Azlyn Vaher of Yasum Designs is hiding these in her store! The vast majority of leg warmers don’t fit over any kinds of boots that I own and it really does look strange when you are decked in furs and legwarmers…and then wear ballerinas or sandals. These chaps work just as fine and are flares, so ost of my boots fit underneath. I like the texture, too and as a plus, these come with a Mega HUD that allows you guys to choose from a myriad of colour options for the straps, base and batches. πŸ™‚ Very happy with these!

  1. I was horrified when I went to Ryvolter and saw the prices too. I realize it is custom original mesh (which I totally support) but over 600L for a relatively simple mesh cape? IDK dude. Sooooo glad I wasn’t the only person that was shocked by the price bomb.
They make lovely clothing and accessories though, so credit where due and I still walked away a couple of items – even if they were overpriced.
